Nuance means a slight variation in meaning, tone, colour, etc., or a gradual change in meaning. It has long been a favourite word of mine.
I have, over the years that I have explored the internet, endeavored to learn all I can, to make, and to enjoy myself. This has led to a series of websites being formed, most of them dead-ends which never got off the ground. Alternatively, there have been several play-by-post roleplaying websites which I have owned or co-owned, some which were and are quite successful.
However, I had never considered it a priority to have a site of my own, for personal use, until late 2005. It was at that point when I first began to ponder whether it was worth doing such a thing, where I could host it, and the like. I made a layout on a whim on 13th February of the year 2006 of our lord, after considering a name. After deliberation between this and 'Pyro', I decided on 'Nuance'.
Soon after, I began typing up content like a mad woman. It was fun! Of course, I still needed a hoster…
So, I contacted Miryna of faery-circle.net. I knew her (or rather, of her) through avidgamers.com, and had once or twice considered applying for hosting with her. I sent in an application, and – oh joy – I got back a positive answer. I got the brunt of content up over the next few weeks.
I like having a site to myself. Who knows – maybe one day I'll do something productive with the webspace I have, maybe not. Oh well. <33
